Note: You'll have to do this at the start of every class. (Your DW settings disappear when you turn the machine off; your website, however, will be saved until the end of the term.)

1. Start Dreamweaver. (Please recall the two-digit code given during the first class; you'll need it below...)

Under the "site" menu (top of the screen), select "New site".

2. In the setup window, "site" should already be selected (highlighted) in the left panel.

Fill in the blanks in the "site setup" form:

2a. Site name: Choose something meaningful, such as "Mark's site" or your domain name (e.g., www.marknewsome.com).

2b. Local site folder: ok to leave this alone

3. Now click "servers" on the left panel.

At the top of the right side, "basic" (not "advanced") should already be selected. Fill in the blanks:

a) server name: aws.linnbenton.edu

b) ftp address: aws.linnbenton.edu

c) username: DW1_XX             (uppercase)

where XX is the two-digit code I gave you. Each student has an assigned number.

If you're in Dreamweaver 2, the username is DW2_XX.

d) passwords

DW 1: dw9726F             (case matters)
DW 2: dw9726F2

4. Click the "test" button

a) If it says it can't connect -- check for typos and/or ask for help.

b) It it says "success", click "save" -- you're done and you're ready to work on your site.

You're now ready to start working on your website.

The location of your class website is one of the following: (On the page, click on your student code.)

For DW Level 1 class: http://aws.linnbenton.edu/9726F/Session1

For DW Level 2 class: http://aws.linnbenton.edu/9726F/Session2
